I bought this plate a few weeks ago. It's Royal Albert and the line is called "Harvest Song". I've been thinking about this plate ever since my husband and I found it last July. We were walking around The Forks on our anniversary after dinner. There's this Antique store in the lower level of one of the buildings. It had some pretty neat stuff in it and it was fun to just walk around and look at everything. I saw this plate and instantly fell in love with it. I didn't buy it then, but have thought about it every time I go to The Forks. So, the other day I finally bought it. It was $39! I thought that was a little pricey, but, it's antique, so it was worth it, right? WRONG! Little did I know, this line is still being made and I could have bought this plate for $10.99 plus shipping online. I bet you could even get it at The Bay here, too (I haven't checked that out yet). I was ticked! Ticked at myself for not doing (easy) research and ticked at the antique store for getting away with ripping me off. Oh, well, it's done - can't return it. At least when I start collecting this set - many, many years from now - I'll have one plate already. Plus, it makes a story for when I hand it down to my child and it looks great on our dresser 'cause it matches our room quite nicely!

Ah man! I hate it when that stuff happens! Sorry for your misfortune!
P.S.-Glad you are back!!!! :0)
Thanks! I'm still feeling like crap most of the time, and my creative juices just haven't been flowing lately, but I'll try to write more often than I have been :)
I would march that plate right back to the "dealer" and demand my money back for misrepresentation. Plus I'd never spend $39 for one plate!!
Nony,
I don't think that antique stores are like other ones. They told me it was a final sale - although I know that I should probably go back and try. Also, I just loved the plate soooo much. It definitely is not worth $39 and I usually would not spend that much, but it wasn't an impulse buy, and I'm still glad to have it! Maybe I'll go back and see what they say :)
